Management of your personal health information

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of the staff.

Privacy Policy

In accordance with the Privacy Act, all information collected in this practice is treated as “sensitive”. We use the information you provide to manage your health care. You can assist in maintaining the accuracy of your information by advising the practice of changes of address, phone number etc. If you have any questions or concerns regarding how we handle your personal health information or need to arrange access to your records, please ask the staff or your doctor, as appropriate.

Communicating with the doctor

Our doctors may be contacted by telephone during normal working hours. However, when they are attending a patient, messages will be taken for your call to be returned. In an emergency, your call will be put straight through.

Investigations or other results

Your doctor will advise when results are expected to arrive at the practice. If the doctor needs to see you about the result, our practice nurse will contact you for an appointment. If you have a query regarding your result, you may ring and the reception staff can give you the doctor’s comment or you can follow up with your doctor at the next appointment.

Patient feedback

Our patients are encouraged to give us feedback regarding the services we provide to them. We will make every effort to implement changes that improve the quality and effective care that we always endeavour to provide.

Complaints

If you have concerns about your healthcare, talk with your GP or the Practice Manager as soon as possible. This is often the quickest and most effective way to resolve concerns.
